(Aleatoric)

Aleatoric music piece made for Pd-Extended and reacTIVision. It takes its core concept from W.A Mozart’s Dice Game and reinvents it with a real-time electronic approach.

The piece is played with two dice displaying different fiducial markers on each side, which tracked by a camera, trigger different musical ideas. As the dice are thrown in front of the camera, the aleatoric piece changes its structure and texture.

The musical material is composed of musical motifs and textures that can be layered with one another. Each motif is assigned a specific/unique fiducial symbol which is tracked by the reacTIVision TUIO protocol.
